About the role
Weblink has 14 years of web and software work behind it, and a large part of that runs on PHP. As a Web Developer, you'll own backend and full-stack work across client projects — building new features in Laravel, maintaining and extending existing CodeIgniter applications, integrating third-party APIs, and keeping everything secure and performant.
This is a hands-on, on-site role at our Banjara Hills office, working closely with our frontend, design, and project teams. You'll take features from requirement to production and stay close to the systems you ship — the kind of ownership that's hard to get on a big, siloed team.
What you’ll do
- Build and maintain web applications in PHP using Laravel and CodeIgniter.
- Design and work with relational databases (MySQL) — schema, queries, and optimization.
- Integrate third-party and payment APIs, and build internal REST APIs.
- Maintain, debug, and extend existing legacy PHP/CodeIgniter codebases.
- Write secure code (input validation, auth, OWASP basics) and fix performance bottlenecks.
- Collaborate with frontend and design to ship features end-to-end.
What we’re looking for
- 3+ years of professional PHP development experience.
- Strong hands-on experience with Laravel and CodeIgniter.
- Solid MySQL skills — writing efficient queries and designing schemas.
- Comfortable with Git, REST APIs, and an MVC mindset.
- Good debugging skills on existing/legacy codebases, not just greenfield work.
- Based in or able to work on-site in Hyderabad (this is an on-site role).
Bonus points for
- Experience with a JS frontend (Vue, React, or Alpine) or Livewire.
- Familiarity with queues, caching (Redis), or background jobs.
- Exposure to CI/CD, Docker, or Linux server administration.
- WordPress or other CMS/e-commerce (WooCommerce, Magento) experience.
